“Numerous traits learned through gymnastics are applicable to life after college athletics. We use gymnastics as a way to teach accountability, perseverance, goal-setting and self-confidence. Gymnastics is a sport in which it is vital to have a positive attitude and work through difficulties, much like any career or situation in the real world. Additionally, being accountable as a teammate and friend is an important skill to have in any walk of life. Creating excellent citizens and employees after graduation is expected of not only the gymnastics team, but anyone involved with Michigan Athletics.”
